Rest of weekend in VA

After our naps on Friday, we had dinner with some friends of Stephan and Katie. It was about 8:20 when we realized we needed to head out for the fireworks for DC. We quickly cleaned up, and got Nate into the carseat and headed to Pentagon City Mall parking deck. We were on the 3rd floor of the parking deck, so we were under cover if it continued to rain. The fireworks went off on time and we saw about 1/2 of the fireworks. The rest of the fireworks were in the smoke cloud. So Nate saw his first fireworks display. The really cool part was that you could see the Washington Monument as well.

Saturday, we got up late again! Nate slept till 6 am both Friday and Saturday! We had a late breakfast and then went to Ikea to buy our closet stuff. The place was packed and crazy. We got most of what we wanted and were on our way home by 4 pm. Of course, we had lunch there and Nate pooped so much that Jimmy got to wear some of it. Then we got home in time to get ready for Nate to meet his Great Uncle Mike and Pam. We had a wonderful evening with them.

Sunday, we got up and packed. We asked Stephan and Katie to be Nate's Godparents. They were so excited! Then we left for home, by way of Ikea again. Ikea was not crowded at all. Anyway, it was pouring rain most of the way home and the traffic was terrible. We finally got home around 8:30 pm. Ben helped us get the Ikea furniture out of the U-Haul. Now it just has to get assembled into place.
